Job summary

Intermountain Health in Grand Junction, CO seeks an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac exams under physician direction. This full-time role requires ARDMS/CCI certification and BLS, with duties spanning exam prep, scheduling, coordination with staff and patients, and documentation of results.

Work includes four 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM–5:00 PM) and on-call with a 30-minute response time, primarily at St. Marys Regional Hospital with rotations to the Cardiology Clinic in Grand Junction.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for the exam by educating patient and family on procedure and transporting patient.
• Perform ultrasound exams per related protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs and coordinate care with physicians and family.
• Document exam results and needed information.
• Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work area.
• Support quality improvement processes and initiatives.
• Participate in educational opportunities to ensure clinical competence and develop skills.
• Provide education for other caregivers, fellows, and students.
