Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. in Grand Junction, CO, is seeking an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac exams under physician direction. The role includes 4 x 10-hour shifts (Mon-Fri, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM) with on-call responsibilities and a 30-minute response time, at St.

Mary's Regional Hospital and rotating to the Cardiology Clinic. You will hold ARDMS or CCI certification, BLS, and ideally a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for the exam by identifying patients, educating patients and family, and transporting the patient.
• Perform ultrasound exams per related protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Identify patient needs and coordinate patient care with physicians and other caregivers.
• Document exam results and other needed information.
• Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment, work area, and stock supplies.
• Support repair or supply needs through appropriate channels.
• Participate in quality improvement processes and initiatives.
• Pursue educational opportunities to maintain competence and develop skills.
