Job summary

Intermountain Health in Grand Junction, CO, is seeking a skilled Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac exams under physician direction. The role requires handling ultrasound procedures, coordinating with staff and patients, and ensuring safety and efficiency.

Four 10-hour shifts weekly (mon-fri, 6:30am–5:00pm) with on-call time and rotating day off, primarily at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital with rotations to the Cardiology Clinic in Grand Junction.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for the exam by following patient identification processes, educating patient and family on procedure, and transporting the patient.
• Perform ultrasound exams consistent with related protocols and in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Identify patient needs and communicate and coordinate patient care with physicians, other caregivers, patient, and family.
• Document exam results and other needed information.
• Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment, work area, and stock supplies.
• Coordinate repair or supply needs through appropriate channels.
• Support team and quality improvement processes and initiatives.
• Participate in educational opportunities to ensure clinical competence and develop additional skills and knowledge.
• Provide education for other caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate.
