Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams under physician direction. The role is based primarily at St. Marys Regional Hospital, with rotations at the Cardiology Clinic in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Full-time, 40 hours per week, four 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM–5:00 PM, Mon–Fri) with rotating days off and on-call duties requiring a 30-minute response. ARDMS/CCI and BLS required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography is required.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers is required.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred and will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department-specific protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Educate patient and family on procedures; ensure patient identification processes.
• Perform ultrasound exams in a timely manner according to related protocols.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and caregivers throughout exams.
• Document exam results and other needed information.
• Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Maintain equipment and work area; manage supplies.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and educational opportunities.
