Job summary

Methodist Hospital is seeking an Echo/Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to join the Non-Invasive Cardiology team. Under the manager’s supervision, you will perform physician-ordered diagnostic cardiac exams, including 2-D echocardiograms, TEEs, carotid imaging, and related procedures, following hospital standards.

Candidates must be registry eligible (ARDMS/CCI) and meet the listed education paths. The role emphasizes patient safety, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Must meet ARDMS/CCI credentials and registry eligibility.
• Graduate from a CAAHEP-accredited program or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree with ultrasound experience or ARDMS eligibility.
• On-the-job ultrasound experience accepted with the right credentials.

Responsibilities

• Acquire physician orders and prioritize STAT exams.
• Operate echocardiography equipment and maintain clean facilities.
• Perform adult and pediatric echocardiograms with standard views.
• Assist with TEEs and maintain documentation in systems.
• Support carotid imaging and other related cardiovascular studies.
• Maintain patient safety, charting, and communication with care team.

Education

Registry eligibility for ARDMS or CCI RCS/RCCS/RVS

CAAHEP-accredited diagnostic medical sonography program

Bachelor's degree in sonography or vascular technology

Bachelor’s degree + 6 months ultrasound experience (clinical)

Current ARDMS/CCI credentials (RCS/RCCS/RVS)

High school/GED with 2 years on-the-job ultrasound experience

Non-accredited program with 800 clinical hours (Cardiac Sonography)

Initial and ongoing training and competencies per department
