Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Level 4 Cardiac Sonographer for our Echocardiography department in the Union area. You will perform routine and emergency echocardiograms, including 2D/3D, Doppler, TEE, and stress studies, with on-call, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

The role requires ARRT/ARDMS registration within a year, CPR/BLS, and a high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree or specialized cardiac ultrasound training preferred. Teamwork and patient-centered care are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program preferred.
• Valid ARRT(S), RDMS, or RDCS certification within one year of hire.
• CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency echocardiograms per protocols.
• Record quality information and prepare preliminary reports.
• Explain procedures and potential side effects to patients.
• Provide echocardiography services across locations and shifts, including on-call.
• Maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues with EMR and PAC systems.
• Participate in quality improvement and educational activities.
