Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Ohio seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform cardiovascular imaging and ensure accurate reporting. You will review physician orders, explain procedures to patients, and maintain high standards of patient care.

Required ARDMS RVT or CCI RVS certification (or board-eligible with certification within 12 months) and BLS. One year of cardiovascular imaging experience is preferred; strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
• ARDMS RVT or CCI RVS certification preferred (or board-eligible with certification within 12 months).
• ARDMS or CCI Board-eligible AND achieve certification within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum one year experience in cardiovascular imaging preferred.
• Effective communication skills required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician orders to ensure correct procedure and accurately identifies patients.
• Performs all studies according to policy and standards; reports abnormal pathology appropriately; explains procedures to patients.
• Obtains pertinent health history and enters data in diagnostic equipment and documentation system; ensures accuracy of reports.
• Communicates pertinent patient data to team members; collaborates with other departments for optimum patient care.
• Knowledgeable of equipment; performs basic troubleshooting; participates in evaluation of new equipment.
• Maintains registry status and completes annual competencies; participates in accreditation/re‑accreditation processes.
• Uses timekeeping and clinical information systems effectively; adheres to intranet protocols.
• Participates in performance improvement projects and data collection.
