Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform a range of echocardiography procedures, including 2D/3D imaging, Doppler, transesophageal echocardiography, and stress tests. The role requires ARRT/ARDMS registration and strong patient communication.

Expect coverage across various labs, with weekends and on-call as needed. Required is a high school diploma or GED; an associate degree and formal cardiac ultrasound training are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program preferred.
• ARRT(S), RDMS, RDCS registration through ARRT/ARDMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency echocardiograms (2D/3D, Doppler, TEE, stress) per protocols.
• Record quality information and follow procedural guidelines.
• Explain procedures and potential side effects to patients/families.
• Provide echocardiography service at multiple locations with weekend and on-call coverage.
