Job summary

Advocate Health's Echocardiography department seeks an experienced Cardiac Sonographer to perform advanced echocardiograms and assist in EP labs. Candidate must handle complex imaging, interact with physicians, and maintain lab standards.

Role requires 2+ years in cardiovascular sonography, advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy, and commitment to patient care. Comprehensive benefits begin day one; weekend/on-call/holiday rotations apply.

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond high school in sonography.
• Two years of cardiovascular sonography experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 6 months or as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures (M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color Flow).
• Assist physicians in Catheterization and EP labs for complex procedures.
• Prepare patients, obtain history, and adapt imaging techniques.
• Perform transesophageal studies with cardiologist and sterilize probes.
• Communicate clinical findings to staff and document lab statistics.
• Maintain echocardiography lab equipment and ensure QA standards.
• Support quality processes and ICAEL accreditation initiatives.
