Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System seeks a Registered Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiography and vascular diagnostic testing across 12 locations, providing coverage as needed. The role requires ARDMS/CCI credentialing or eligibility and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Ideal candidates have an associate or bachelor's degree in diagnostic medical sonography, at least one year of cardiovascular imaging experience, and a strong patient-care focus with excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum one year experience in cardiovascular imaging preferred.
• ARDMS or CCI certification with eligibility to certify within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician orders to ensure correct procedure and correctly identifies patients.
• Performs all studies according to policy and procedures and standards established by accrediting bodies.
• Explains procedures to patients and ensures patient comfort.
• Obtains pertinent health history and enters accurate data in diagnostic testing systems.
• Communicates pertinent patient data to appropriate team members and collaborates with other departments.
• Knowledgeable of equipment pertinent to testing area; participates in basic troubleshooting and new equipment evaluation.
• Responsible for personal professional development and maintaining registry status.
• Uses timekeeping and clinical information systems effectively.
• Participates in performance improvement and data collection.
