Job summary

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Patient Care Technician for our Heart and Vascular Unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Patient Care Technician, you will perform vital signs and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, follow the care plan, and participate in ongoing education and professional initiatives, while maintaining a professional image.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Successful completion of a CNA or first year Nursing School Program and CNA exam required.
• Maryland CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) License required.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Effective command of English (spoken and written).
• Physical ability to meet lifting, bending and turning requirements.
• Experience in acute care clinical setting preferred.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs and activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Follow care plan established by the RN and receive report from RN.
• Ensure a culture of safety and report malfunctioning equipment.
• Identify and report expired supplies and keep work areas clean and stored properly.
• Participate in education programs, meetings, and professional initiatives.
• Present a positive and professional image representing nursing and the organization.
