Job summary

HCA Healthcare’s Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support the nursing team with vital signs, mobility, daily living tasks, and safe patient care in a fast-paced cardiac specialty unit.

The role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate patient interaction, and adherence to infection control and safety protocols. Night shifts run 6:45p-7:15a with orientation first.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Kansas CNA license or completion of HCA Patient Care Tech Essentials training required.
• BCLS certification required upon hire.
• Orientation schedule before transitioning to 12‑hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
• Work the Full‑time NIGHT Schedule: 6:45p-7:15a; 3 12‑hr shifts following orientation.
