Job summary

Open Sky Community Services is seeking a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist in Worcester, MA to provide direct peer support and help clients pursue recovery goals. The role emphasizes using lived experience to build trust, foster self-determination, and guide individuals toward independent living within supportive networks.

You will conduct 1:1 and group sessions, help clients develop coping skills, and support transitions to community life through recovery planning and community integration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must have lived experience with substance use disorder and the ability to build trust while maintaining strong boundaries.
• Must be a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC) or be willing to obtain CARC within one year of employment; Open Sky pays for certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct peer support to individuals and families using lived experience with recovery.
• Assist individuals in developing, implementing, and monitoring personal recovery goals via self-directed planning.
• Conduct 1:1 and group activities to increase readiness for rehabilitation and recovery.
• Facilitate development of valued community roles including group memberships, employment, or volunteering.
• Maintain knowledge of consumer-operated programs and Recovery Learning Communities.
