Job summary

Hornblower Corp is seeking an experienced Captain to oversee the saft operations, maintenance, and overall condition of the vessel, ensuring safety for all aboard. You will supervise the crew, direct day-to-day activities, and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory agencies.

The Captain will ensure proper manning per COI, train the crew, and report incidents promptly. This leadership role requires strong safety focus, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Minimum 100-TON Master Inland or above License
• TWIC, First Aid/CPR
• Marine Radio Operator Permit
• Detail oriented and situational awareness
• Strong radar/navigation skills
• Safety-focused with teamwork
• Excellent organization and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and provide clear leadership

Responsibilities

• Onboard manager and company representative.
• Ensure safe, efficient vessel operation and navigation in all weather.
• Ensure vessel is properly manned per COI and passenger counts.
• Train crew and ensure compliance with USCG, Federal and state laws and company policies.
• Report accidents/incidents promptly and complete required forms.
• Maintain vessel appearance and cleanliness.
• Perform preventive maintenance on systems (diesel, hydraulics, electrical, etc.).
• Document maintenance activities in Wheel-House Software.
• Conduct security drills and ensure compliance with Security Plan.
• Lead daily job briefings and log outcomes in the vessel logbook.
• Enforce company policies and compliance with Coast Guard rules.
• Adhere to Emergency Response Plan and participate in safety drills.
