Job summary

Hornblower Corp. is seeking an experienced Captain to oversee the saft operation, maintenance, and safety of a vessel in Boston. You will supervise the crew, direct day-to-day activities, and ensure compliance with USCG and company policies.

The role requires a minimum 100-TON Master Inland license, TWIC, and valid Marine Radio Operator Permit, with a strong focus on safety and customer service. Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is expected.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a minimum 100-TON Master Inland license.
  • TWIC, First Aid/CPR, and Marine Radio Operator Permit.
  • Detail oriented with strong situational awareness.
  • Strong radar/navigation skills and safety focus.
  • Ability to supervise crew and ensure compliance with USCG and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safe and efficient operation, navigation, and crew safety on the vessel.
  • Supervise crew and conduct daily briefings.
  • Ensure vessel is properly manned per COI and accurately record passenger counts.
  • Train crew and evaluate performance; report to Operations Manager.
  • Conduct safety drills and report incidents promptly to management.
  • Maintain vessel appearance and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Document maintenance in Wheel-House Software and ensure compliance with security plans.
