Job summary

Hornblower Group is seeking a Captain to oversee safe vessel operation, crew supervision, and daily navigation in all weather conditions. The role requires adherence to COI, USCG regulations, and company policies, with emphasis on safety and passenger service.

The Captain will train crew, manage maintenance programs, conduct safety drills, and document activities in the Wheel-House Software. Availability for nights, weekends and holidays is expected.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 100-TON Master Inland or above License.
  • TWIC, First Aid/CPR.
  • Marine Radio Operator Permit.
  • Detail oriented and situational awareness.
  • Strong radar and navigation skills.
  • Strong focus on safety and teamwork.
  • Customer service, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Captain is the onboard manager and representative of the company.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation and navigation of the vessel in all conditions.
  • Maintain proper manning in accordance with COI and conduct passenger counts.
  • Train crew and ensure compliance with USCG and company policies.
  • Report accidents or incidents promptly and accurately.
  • Oversee appearance, maintenance, and preventative tasks on the vessel.
  • Conduct safety drills and ensure proper documentation in logs and systems.
  • Communicate effectively with crew and guests and uphold standards.
