The Captain at Hornblower Group leads on board operations for a Coast Guard-inspected passenger vessel, ensuring safe navigation, maintenance and the well-being of all guests and crew. You will supervise the crew, enforce policies and coordinate with the Operations Manager to meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include drills, reporting incidents, conducting safety checks, ensuring vessel is properly manned, and maintaining logs in Wheel-House Software.

Formación

• Minimum 100-TON Master Inland or above License and related certifications.
• TWIC, First Aid/CPR and Marine Radio Operator Permit required.
• Detail oriented with strong situational awareness and safety mindset.
• Strong radar and navigation skills with focus on safety and teamwork.
• Ability to maintain organization, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with guests and crew.
• Proficiency in Windows-based software and Wheel-House Software.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee safe operation, maintenance and overall condition of the vessel.
• Supervise the vessel crew and direct day-to-day activities.
• Ensure vessel is properly manned per COI and conduct passenger counts.
• Train crew and ensure compliance with USCG and regulations.
• Report incidents promptly and complete required forms.
• Maintain appearance, cleanliness and safety standards onboard.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections while underway.
• Document maintenance activities in Wheel-House Software.
• Conduct safety drills and emergency trainings per USCG and policy.
• Lead daily job briefings and ensure logs are updated.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and federal/state rules.
• Maintain uniform and grooming standards; be available nights/weekends/holidays.
