Job summary

Hornblower Corp. is seeking an experienced Captain to oversee the safe operation, maintenance, and overall condition of the vessel and the safety of all aboard. You will supervise the crew, direct daily activities, and ensure adherence to COI requirements and USCG regulations.

The role emphasizes training crew, conducting safety drills, and maintaining logs and reporting any incidents promptly to management. Strong leadership and communication are essential for guest and crew safety.

Qualifications

  • Must hold 100-Ton Master Inland license or higher.
  • TWIC and First Aid/CPR Certification required.
  • Marine Radio Operator Permit required.
  • Detail oriented with strong situational awareness.
  • Proficient radar and navigation skills.
  • Excellent safety record and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safe operation and navigation of vessel.
  • Direct crew on day-to-day activities.
  • Ensure vessel is properly manned per COI.
  • Maintain vessel appearance and cleanliness.
  • Record maintenance and inspections in Wheel-House Software.
  • Conduct safety drills and emergencies as required.
  • Report accidents and incidents promptly.
  • Manage crew performance and training.
  • Communicate with Operations Manager.
