Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging is seeking an experienced Project Manager for capital projects in PET preform and rigid container manufacturing. You will manage multiple site projects from conception through qualification, balancing productivity, timing and budget while supporting cost-reduction initiatives across locations.

The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering background with at least seven years in engineering and project management within plastics packaging, and the ability to lead

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required.
• Minimum of seven years of professional engineering experience in plastics packaging, including seven years in project management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence and manage multiple resources.
• Experience managing direct reports and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience evaluating on-site manufacturing opportunities and managing projects from concept to completion.
• Experience with SPC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support capital appropriation.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into action plans meeting cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure and equipment against project requirements; plan upgrades and expansion.
• Analyze equipment performance and costs; evaluate machinery and workflows.
• Communicate and resolve technical, timing and budget issues; publish weekly status reports.
• Create and maintain division-level technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Regularly communicate with plants to understand long-term project performance and resolve issues.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and standards compliance.
• Travel approximately 60%.
