Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging is seeking a seasoned Capital Projects Engineer to manage complex PET preform and rigid container projects across multiple sites. You will oversee feasibility, budgets, schedules and equipment upgrades from concept to qualification, driving productivity and cost reductions.

Qualifications include a mechanical or electrical engineering degree and 7+ years in plastics packaging with project management experience, plus the ability to lead diverse teams and travel roughly 60%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is required.
• Minimum seven years of professional engineering experience in plastics packaging and seven years in project management.
• Experience managing direct reports and coordinating multiple resources.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities; ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into action implementation plans meeting cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements.
• Develop and manage upgrades and expansion plans.
• Evaluate performance and cost of equipment, tooling, and workflows.
• Communicate and resolve technical, timing, and budget issues; publish weekly status reports.
• Maintain division-level technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Regularly communicate with plants to monitor long-term project performance and resolve issues.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and standards compliance.
• Travel ~60%.
