Job summary

Community Food Works in Kingston, NY is seeking a Capital Projects Manager to own the delivery of capital projects from development through startup. You will coordinate design teams, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to move projects from concept through execution.

The ideal candidate has a background in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field, with experience in food/CPG manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience delivering capital projects on owner side.
• Experience managing multiple parallel projects across phases.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specs, construction methods, building systems.
• Experience reviewing estimates, proposals, change orders, and related docs.
• Strong communication, project management, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to spend significant time in the field.
• Alignment with Community Food Works and NoVo mission.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned capital projects from initial need through design, construction, commissioning, startup, and closeout.
• Develop project objectives, requirements, budgets, schedules, and success criteria with stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into clear project requirements.
• Manage feasibility studies, site investigations, and existing-condition assessments.
• Lead design reviews and coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Coordinate owner-furnished equipment, utility connections, and field activities.
• Monitor progress, safety, quality, cost, and compliance; conduct site visits.
• Manage commissioning, turnover, startup, closeout, and handover.
• Maintain schedules and report risks; manage changes within authority limits.
