Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a finance and accounting lead for a new plant build. You will provide financial discipline, controls, and insights to ensure the project is tracked and aligned with contract scope and business objectives.

The role requires a background in accounting, strong project controls, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, procurement, operations, and auditors in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 5+ years of professional accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of team management or project leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial oversight of the project, including budgets, forecasts, commitments, change orders, and cost performance.
• Ensure project spending, contracts, invoices, and purchasing activity are accurate and properly supported.
• Maintain strong financial controls, audit readiness, contract compliance, and risk management processes.
