Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead large-scale engineering initiatives within our pork and packaged meat operations. You will oversee design, development, and implementation, manage budgets and schedules, and drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver on strategic objectives.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience and at least 2 years in leadership. Travel up to 50% is required as you coordinate across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field; 5+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination.
• 2+ years' leadership experience including team development and management.

Responsibilities

• Design Work: develop engineering designs, material specs, cost estimates, and feasibility studies; review submissions and manage vendors and schedules.
• Design Implementation: plan layouts with vendors; maintain documentation and vendor contacts.
• Reports and Proposals: plan and review pre-project phases; prepare proposals and status reports.
• Bid Review and Project Preparation: manage contract administration and project documents; monitor installations within budget.
• People Management: lead and coach engineers to foster growth and a positive team culture.
