Job summary

The Cannabist Company is seeking a Shift Lead to supervise daily retail operations, coach staff, and ensure a customer-first experience in a fast-paced cannabis store.

You will work with store leadership to meet sales goals, manage POS transactions, and uphold compliance. The role requires strong customer service, flexibility for evenings/weekends, and excellent problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• 3+ years of retail or customer service experience.
• Experience with cash handling and POS systems.
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Ability to coach and influence others.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support store leadership in achieving sales goals and business growth.
• Lead by example and promote a service-minded retail environment.
• Demonstrate cannabis product knowledge and guide customers for a positive experience.
• Open/close the store as needed and assign tasks.
• Perform and train the retail team on tasks including customer intake, sales, inventory, and POS transactions.
• Provide coaching and escalate employee concerns to leadership promptly.
• Ensure SOP/compliance adherence and report issues to leadership.
• Assist with inventory management and audits.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and share findings with leadership.
