Job summary

Parallel in Northampton, MA is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to be the face of our retail locations, delivering exceptional service and product knowledge. You will drive revenue, maintain store standards, and create a welcoming environment in this role.

As part of the team you will help shoppers, manage transactions, support inventory, and comply with HIPAA and state regulations for cannabis retailers. This position may include evening and weekend shifts with up to 29 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Age 21 or over (Industry Requirement)
• High School Diploma or equivalent (Industry Requirement)
• Valid Government-Issued Photo ID (Industry Requirement)
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• 1 year of experience in retail or a related customer service role
• Proficiency in operating POS systems and handling transactions
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and resolve issues promptly

Responsibilities

• Drive Sales and Revenue: Utilize upselling and cross-selling techniques to increase sales
• Drive Sales and Revenue: Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets
• Drive Sales and Revenue: Stay informed about current promotions and programs
• Customer Service: Greet and assist customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Customer Service: Provide detailed product information and recommendations
• Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally
• Customer Service: Retrieve patient information when required from the Medical Marijuana Use Registry, and maintain HIPAA compliant paperwork
• Customer Service: Package pre-orders for reserve ahead pickups
• Customer Service: Verify documentation and registrations for Medical Marijuana Use
• Delivery: Deliver products to customers in-store or via home delivery
• Store Operations: Operate POS and sales systems and handle transactions
• Store Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor
• Store Operations: Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking
• Store Operations: Set up promotional displays and visual merchandising
• Store Operations: Follow all state regulations pertaining to certified Cannabis retailers
