Job summary

AT&T Global Public Sector is seeking a Design Engineer (CAN/LAN) to support modernizing a government enterprise network. The role requires designing, documenting, and transitioning network services, with hands-on assessment in a private test lab and coordination of migrations.

The position demands TS/SCI with polygraph, DoD 8140 IAT Level 2, and extensive experience with Cisco/Brocade/Juniper hardware, OSPF/BGP routing, and VLANs. Located in Chantilly, VA with 5-day office presence.

Qualifications

16 years of combined work history/education required
DoD 8140 IAT Level 2 compliance required
Experience with production network hardware configurations (Cisco/Brocade/Juniper)
Experience with OSPF/BGP routing and VLANs/802.1q/port-channels

Responsibilities

Interpret customer requirements and apply standard CAN/LAN design approaches.
Fully document designs with diagrams, BOMs, cabling sheets, configurations, and supporting documents.
Schedule maintenance windows for migrations with minimal data flow impact.
Provide technical expertise to Operations engineers and technicians for fault isolation and resolution.
Develop secure network designs aligning with DISA STIGs and obtain Authority to Operate (ATO).
