Job summary

AT&T Global Public Sector seeks a Design Engineer focused on CAN/LAN to support government networks in Chantilly, VA. The role involves interpreting customer requirements, designing and documentingLAN solutions, and transitioning legacy networks to modern infrastructure.

The candidate will test configurations in a private lab, schedule maintenance windows, and provide tier-III support to operations teams. TS/SCI with polygraph are required; relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Experience designing CAN/LAN networks and modern enterprise transitions.
• Strong background in routing and switching protocols in production networks.
• CCNP or equivalent knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer requirements and apply standard CAN/LAN design approaches.
• Document designs with diagrams, BOMs, cabling sheets, configurations and supporting docs.
• Coordinate maintenance windows with minimal impact to data flows during transition to modern infrastructure.
• Provide technical expertise to operations teams, troubleshoot and resolve faults.
• Develop secure network designs aligned with DISA STIGs; obtain ATO for new devices.
