Job summary

AT&T Global Public Sector is seeking a Design Engineer (CAN/LAN) to support our government customers’ global enterprise networks. The CAN/LAN service network architecture modernizes components and coordinates design, engineering and transition for delivery across mission-critical environments.

This role requires on-site presence in Aurora, CO, with a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. The team emphasizes secure designs in line with DISA STIGs and ATOs.

Qualifications

  • 10 years related experience or education equivalent as defined by the job posting.
  • DoD 8140 IAT Level 2 compliance.
  • Production network hardware experience with Cisco, Brocade and/or Juniper.
  • Experience with OSPF or BGP routing in production networks.
  • Experience with VLANs, 802.1q, and port-channels.

Responsibilities

  • Document designs with diagrams, BOMs, cabling sheets, configurations and other docs.
  • Use private test lab to evaluate new technologies and test changes.
  • Schedule maintenance windows with minimal data flow impact.
  • Provide technical expertise to Operations for fault isolation and resolution.
  • Develop secure network designs aligned with DISA STIGs and obtain ATO.
  • Supervise (not manage) other network support specialists.
  • Improve design products, processes and systems for efficiency.
  • Learn MPLS WANs and apply to CAN/LAN projects.
