Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is hiring an Assistant Store Manager for our campus store. You will partner with the Store Manager to lead daily operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and drive sales performance across departments including Course Materials, General Merchandise, Café/Convenience, and Trade Books.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of retail experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with inventory management, merchandising, and store presentation.
• Proficiency with POS systems and basic software tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily store operations and coach team members to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Partner with Store Manager to oversee merchandising, inventory accuracy, and store presentation.
• Manage scheduling, training, and development of staff.
• Analyze business trends and controllable expenses to improve performance.
• Foster campus relationships and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
• Support daily operations across Course Materials, General Merchandise, Café/Convenience, and Trade Books as needed.
