Job summary

Follett Higher Education is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support a Market Leader or Campus Store Manager in overseeing store operations. You will drive sales growth and uphold brand and operational excellence while delivering an engaging customer service experience.

You will mentor team members, monitor store performance, and ensure availability to meet business needs. This role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to Follett values and competencies.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent preferred.
• 0-5 years of retail or bookstore experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• General Computer Skills

Responsibilities

• Supervises the work activities of sales team members FT/PT and Temporary, including: schedules team members' work hours, trains new team members, ensures policy compliance, and maintains merchandising standards.
• Greet customers, answer phones, provide information, direct callers, and resolve escalated issues to create a hassle-free customer service culture.
• Receive, verify, and unload orders as necessary; operate cash register and store computer to accept payments, place orders, balance cash, and prepare deposits.
• Stock shelves and take inventory per Store schedule; assist with general store cleaning and shelf/display upkeep.
• Acts as Keyholder with opening and closing responsibilities; handles deposits, cash counts, AR tasks, and end-of-month reporting.
• Shrink prevention practices and activities, such as visible customer service.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
