Job summary

International Leadership of Texas seeks an experienced Special Education leader to coordinate campus services and act as the ARD/IEP point person. The role supports teachers and students with disabilities, ensuring compliance and program effectiveness.

The candidate will direct instructional strategies, manage assessments, and collaborate with parents and staff to implement individualized education plans across the campus. Leadership and coordination are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Master's degree in Education preferred.
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification in Special Education required.
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification in Elementary or Middle/Generalist or Core Subjects K-8 as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEP through ARD.
  • Implement instructional, therapeutic or skill development program with documentation.
  • Assess learning styles and plan strategies to meet needs of students with disabilities.
  • Present subject matter effectively per IEP guidelines with varied instructional media.
  • Work with teachers to modify curricula and assist SPED students in regular classes.
  • Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
  • Contribute to selection of books and instructional media.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement.
  • Provide or supervise personal/medical care as stated in IEP.
  • Lead extracurricular activities as assigned.
  • Consult district and outside resources regarding educational and personal needs.
  • Create conducive classroom environment and manage student behavior per IEP.
  • Plan work for aides/volunteers and supervise completion.
  • Establish open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
  • Maintain professional relationships and participate in staff development.
  • Keep informed of regulations and policies for special education.
  • Compile and file all required reports and documents.
  • Attend faculty meetings and participate in staff committees.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
