Job summary

Great Hearts Academies in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Special Education Coordinator (6-12) to lead campus SPED programs in collaboration with the Special Education Director and other leaders. You will oversee ARD/IEP processes, compliance, and the development of SPED staff.

This exempt, full-time role focuses on coordinating services, mentoring teachers, facilitating meetings, and ensuring high quality supports for students with disabilities while coordinating with families and service providers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Special Education teaching experience.
  • TX Special Education Certification and Generalist or Core Academic Subject Area relevant to grades served.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of the Child Centered Special Education Process on assigned campus.
  • Ensure ARD/IEP compliance with Federal, State, and Local requirements.
  • Lead SPED team and supervise staff, including mentoring teachers and SPED TAs.
  • Facilitate ARD meetings, FIEs, and triennial IEP reviews with data-driven planning.
  • Collaborate with related service providers and general education staff.
  • Oversee transition planning for new enrollees eligible for special education services.
