Job summary

Plymouth State University is seeking a Facilities Safety and Security Systems Manager to oversee critical safety technologies and campus-wide communications. You will work under the Director of Facilities to manage door access, panic systems, security cameras, and campus safety drills, coordinating with police and vendors.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience with safety/security systems, plus strong communication and emergency-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable field is required.
• Minimum five years of experience with critical safety and security systems.
• Proven ability to interface with State and local law enforcement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure situations.
• Strong confidentiality and emergency management knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Administer campuswide safety and security systems (door access, reporting, troubleshooting).
• Manage campus panic button systems and camera system; coordinate with police and vendors.
• Oversee installations, access rights, and security-related site work; represent PSU in security committees.
• Support parking permits, keys, ID cards, Blue Phone deployments, and safety drills.
• Lead development of Plymouth State's Clery report; coordinate with multiple departments and agencies.
• Coordinate emergency communications (RAVE alerts, text, email) and serve on emergency teams.
• Support administrative operations of the Facilities Office (scheduling, logistics, communications).
• Coordinate shuttle services: schedules, driver roster, DOT compliance, WEX program.
• Respond to crises and develop technology-based shuttle support systems.
• Act as Emergency Response Liaison with municipal and state agencies.
