Plymouth State University is seeking a Campus Safety Officer to patrol its campus and provide emergency assistance to the community. The role involves responding to a wide range of incidents and collaborating with University Police. Officers are expected to document incidents, conduct security checks, and ensure a safe environment for students and staff.
The position requires a clean criminal record, physical capability, and strong communication skills. Candidates will be engaged in significant community support activities and role modeling for students.
Campus Safety Officers patrol campus 24‑hours a day, year‑round, to provide emergency and other assistance to University students, faculty, staff and visitors while exercising sound judgement to respond to complex situations. Officers independently document and investigate campus incidents, periodically in collaboration with Plymouth State University Police. Officers conduct property security checks. Officer schedules include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as determined by the needs of the University, and officers are expected to respond to requests from the University to return to duty in the event of a significant emergency. All staff positions on campus support students and will be involved in student‑focused activities.
