Job summary

Houston City College is seeking a hands-on Facilities Operations assistant to ensure smooth daily operations of the buildings and grounds. You will assist with classroom setups, events, and delivery of supplies to support campus activities.

Responsibilities include routine inspections, audiovisual setups, and reporting hazards. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, with ability to lift 50 lbs and travel to campus as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and with a diverse staff and student population.

Responsibilities

• Move materials, furniture and boxes.
• Set up classrooms, graduations and events.
• Install and assemble college furniture.
• Operate audio-visual equipment for campus events.
• Deliver supplies for campus operations.
• Complete paperwork to support college operations.
• Inspect campus facilities for safety and maintenance.
• Track use and distribution of event supplies.
• Ensure proper storage of materials after use.
• Report problems and safety hazards to management.
