Job summary

Central Oregon Community College – Bend Campus is seeking a Network Technician to assist the Network Services Manager with daily operations, troubleshooting, and administration of COCC's local and wide-area networks. The role supports ITS teams and participates in projects enhancing the college's IT infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will maintain both wired and wireless networks, manage documentation and inventory, and collaborate with external vendors.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of network topology and client connections.
• Ability to perform classroom AV installs and programming.
• Experience maintaining wired/wireless networks and network equipment.
• Familiarity with network documentation and equipment inventory.
• Knowledge of data security basics including firewalls and encryption.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day network operations and stability.
• Install, maintain, and monitor networking equipment; apply updates.
• Document actions, identify trends, and implement fixes.
• Troubleshoot network problems and assist in emergencies.
• Maintain network and wiring documentation and equipment inventory.
• Support phone/voice mail systems and cross-team training.
• Collaborate with vendors for support and guidance.
• Provide technical assistance for building facilities and future tech.
