Job summary

Southern Utah University seeks a Receiving & Delivery Clerk to support Postal Operations and Receiving. The role involves daily mail handling, delivering campus supplies, and driving university vehicles including vans, golf carts, and utility vehicles. Training for forklift operation is provided.

The clerk will receive shipments from major carriers, scan and prepare them for delivery, and assist at the retail window with basic sales and cash handling. This is an active, hands-on campus role.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. or international driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Dependable, punctual and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfortable operating and learning to use vehicles such as vans, golf carts, utility vehicles, and a forklift (training provided).
• Basic computer skills and accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

• Collect outgoing mail from departments and process postage.
• Deliver copier paper and event supplies across campus.
• Maintain cleanliness and fuel for departmental vehicles.
• Receive shipments from carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, OnTrac) and prepare them for delivery.
• Scan, tag and distribute packages accurately to university departments.
• Assist at the retail window with basic sales and cash register transactions.
