Job summary

The University of Utah is seeking a Vehicle Operator 1 to operate light motor vehicles for delivery/pickup/receipt of printed materials, mail, and packages across campus, providing front line customer service and supporting campus mail operations.

Responsibilities include delivering and collecting campus mail, sorting, verifying addresses, processing express shipments, handling first class mail for USPS, maintaining vehicles, and assisting Campus Receiving as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires little to no related experience.
• Preferences include ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Valid Utah Driver's License required.
• Ability to move heavy objects and provide positive customer service.

Responsibilities

• Operate light motor vehicles to deliver/pick up/receive materials on and off campus.
• Deliver and collect campus mail, including special and registered mail.
• Sort and prepare campus mail and packages for delivery.
• Verify addresses and correct inbound mail.
• Process express packages for carriers such as FedEx.
• Handle first class mail and prepare outgoing mail for USPS.
• Check quality of printed materials before delivery.
• Assist customers with mail deliveries and front line service.
• Maintain vehicles with regular inspections and service.
• Perform physical labor related to moving, hauling, delivery, processing of mail.
• Record receipt of goods and report to the department buyer.
• Assist Campus Receiving or other tasks as assigned.
