Job summary

Alto Ingredients, Pekin campus is seeking a hands-on logistics leader to drive safe, efficient, and customer-focused execution across truck, rail, barge, and warehouse operations. You will oversee the Pekin Corn Wet Mill, Dry Mill, and ICP Distillery logistics with a unionized UFCW/USW workforce and partner with maintenance, engineering, and commercial teams to deliver reliable performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, supply chain, logistics, or related field.
• 15+ years of plant operations, logistics, manufacturing, or related industrial experience.
• 10+ years of leadership and people management experience.
• Experience in a unionized environment with UFCW/USW.
• Strong knowledge of safety programs (PSM/RMP), HACCP, GMP, ISO 9001:2015.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, compliant, and efficient movement of alcohol, co-products, DDGS, and incoming corn across the Pekin campus.
• Set clear expectations for safe work, environmental compliance, product quality, and policies.
• Coordinate between operations and commercial teams for production, inventory, shipment, and delivery plans.
• Oversee workforce while coordinating truck, railcar, alcohol, barge, and DDGS loadout activity.
• Maintain rail movement records, daily tracking, and shipment documentation for visibility.
• Partner with maintenance to prioritize preventive maintenance and improve reliability.
• Work with engineering on projects involving grain receiving, loadout, and material handling.
• Generate daily Pekin Campus position reports and stakeholder communications.
• Lead, coach, train, and develop direct reports; manage performance and safety outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regs, QA programs, and site requirements.
• Coordinate with plant managers to optimize campus operations and goals.
• Participate in annual operating plans, budgets, cost controls, and capital proposals.
• Communicate with senior leadership on performance, risks, and improvement priorities.
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and equitable issue resolution.
