Job summary

Kennesaw State University is seeking a Food Prep team member on the Marietta campus. You will assist with all aspects of food preparation, read recipes, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. You may work in front or back of house as needed by business demands.

Requires a high school diploma, ServSafe certification within 12 months, and at least 1 year of food handling experience. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• ServSafe certification or certification within 12 months of hire.
• 1 year of experience in food handling in retail, food service, bakery, warehouse, or grocery establishment or completion of a qualified culinary program.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree in related field preferred; culinary degree/certificate also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and preps fresh produce.
• Preps and cooks raw ingredients following safety guidelines.
• Gathers, weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for recipes.
• Reads and follows recipes.
• Ensures food quality through tasting.
• Constructs food items per guidelines and sets up workstations.
• Determines amounts of food and supplies needed.
• Performs daily production records and temperature checks.
• Operates equipment safely and stores food properly.
