Job summary

The Regents of the University of California on behalf of their Los Angeles Campus seeks a journey-level Plumber to perform full-range plumbing duties across campus facilities. You will inspect, repair, design, modify, and install piping systems, read blueprints, and ensure safe, efficient operation of buildings and equipment.

Responsibilities include installing fixtures, cutting and threading pipe, maintaining tools, coordinating with supervisors, and documenting issues.

Qualifications

• Completion of a certified 4-year trade-related apprenticeship program or equivalent experience and education.
• Working knowledge of current Uniform Plumbing Code and related NFPA standards; ADA and safety code awareness.
• Demonstrated skill in domestic, industrial, commercial, or process piping with tool proficiency.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical specifications, schematics, and blueprints.
• Ability to operate plumbing tools safely and perform tests on piping systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair, design, modify, and alter campus plumbing systems across buildings and equipment.
• Install and repair piping, fixtures, valves, and fittings; cut and thread pipes with cutters and torches.
• Read blueprints, develop layouts, and ensure safe, compliant operation of systems.
• Communicate job-related issues to supervision and document safety practices on site.
• Work overtime or varied shifts and uphold safety and teamwork standards.
