Job summary

UCLA Plumbing shop seeks a skilled journeyman plumber to maintain and modify campus infrastructure, inspect and repair piping, and install fixtures across buildings. You will read blueprints, design layouts, and perform finish trim work while maintaining safety on site.

The role requires a certified 4-year apprenticeship or equivalent experience, knowledge of applicable codes, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs in varied conditions at UCLA.

Qualifications

• Completion of a certified 4-year apprentice program or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of UPC, NFPA 99/13/50 and ADA requirements; report discrepancies.
• Ability to install and troubleshoot piping, fixtures and related components.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical specifications.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey-level plumbing across campus buildings and systems.
• Inspect, repair, install, design, modify piping and fixtures.
• Read blueprints and develop layouts for projects.
• Operate tools safely and ensure on-site safety practices.
• Communicate job issues to supervision and coordinate work.
