Job summary

UCLA is seeking a Plumber to perform journey-level plumbing duties across campus facilities. You will inspect, repair, and install piping systems, read blueprints, and perform backflow testing to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires a certified apprenticeship or equivalent, knowledge of codes, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Overtime and weekend work are possible.

Qualifications

• Completion of a certified 4-year trade-related apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Experience in domestic, industrial, commercial and/or process piping.
• Knowledge of plumbing materials, tools and safety procedures.
• Ability to read specifications, schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to safely operate plumbing tools and equipment.
• Strong math and layout calculation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair campus plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Read blueprints and develop layouts for piping projects.
• Perform backflow testing and ensure code compliance.
• Install/repair pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures.
• Operate tools safely and maintain a clean worksite.
• Communicate issues to supervisors and coordinate with teams.
