Job summary
Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA seeks a Technical Support Specialist to deliver end-user IT support across networks, email, and classroom tech. You will troubleshoot hardware/software, manage tickets, and assist student workers while coordinating with network and system admins.
The role requires a 2-year IT degree, strong customer service, and the ability to lift equipment. Hours 8–5, Monday–Friday, with some variation.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Information Technology (minimum).
- Knowledgeable in Windows 11, Microsoft Office, hardware/software troubleshooting, Active Directory, printers/print server, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Basic experience with network equipment and troubleshooting is a plus.
- Ability to adjust work schedule & lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Software installation and upgrades, troubleshooting, image deployment, and patch maintenance.
- Maintain documentation for hardware and software inventory.
- Troubleshoot computer hardware/software with users.
- Assist with supported audio-visual equipment and peripherals.
- Process and update service tickets in the centralized system.
- Collaborate with network and system admins on IT projects.
