Job summary

City Colleges of Chicago is seeking an IT Help Desk Technician to support computer hardware and software for students, faculty and staff across campus. You will provide in-person and remote support, install and test software, and manage equipment inventory.

Applicants should have an Associate’s degree in IT or related field and at least two years of experience, with strong Windows and Mac support, good communication, and a team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Processing or related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of two years of related work experience.
• Experience supporting Windows and Macintosh platforms.
• Knowledge of current versions of Microsoft Windows and common browsers.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provides computer hardware and software technical support in person and remotely.
• Maintains, installs and tests software on computer hardware.
• Submits help desk tickets to assist users with technology issues.
• Protects and inventories equipment used by students, staff, and faculty.
• Assists with setup for events and on-site equipment management.
• Aids in after-hours, emergency, or on-call support as required.
