Job summary

The University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a Computer Technician to support the College of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Health Centers. You will assist faculty, staff and students with hardware, software and account access across Windows, MacOS and iOS.

Responsibilities include configuring PCs, VPN access, basic device setup, classroom technology like projectors, and updating inventory. Occasional travel in a University vehicle may be required to service offsite locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience supporting computer hardware, software and operating systems.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Macintosh support experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Answer inquiries concerning technology, usernames, passwords, MFA, networking, email, software and hardware.
• Install and configure computer systems running Windows, MacOS, or iOS and peripherals.
• Provide basic support for personal devices to configure University accounts such as Outlook and Office.
• Assist users with VPN access from off-campus and campus networking.
• Relocate computers and peripherals in labs and offices and update inventory accordingly.
• Research, quote, and deploy new hardware and software purchases.
