Job summary

The University of North Dakota offers a part-time Hardware Technician (Student) role within the UIT Hardware team. You will assist with device diagnostics, repairs, and lifecycle tasks across campus, gaining hands-on IT experience while supporting daily operations.

This position is non-benefited and restricted to UND students. You will perform repairs on university and student devices, handle diagnostics and ticketing in TDX, manage inventory, and support endpoint projects.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware components.
• Willingness to complete vendor training (Dell TechDirect & Apple certifications).
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Complete hardware repairs and upgrades on university owned devices and student devices.
• Perform hardware diagnostics and basic troubleshooting on university devices and student devices.
• Intake, documentation, and ticket management within TDX.
• Device preparation, cleaning, and inventory/parts organization.
• Training, support, and additional duties including endpoint assistance and projects.
