Job summary

KPBS in San Diego is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to deliver frontline IT support on campus, handling hardware, software and network issues. You will ensure smooth operations with user-focused service and timely problem resolution.

The role involves configuring and deploying laptops/desktops, managing Active Directory accounts, troubleshooting connectivity (Wi‑Fi, VPN), and maintaining thorough knowledge-base documentation. A Bachelor’s degree and California residency are required.

Qualifications

Frontline IT support for hardware, software, network and access issues.
Experience provisioning accounts and onboarding/offboarding of users.
Ability to document resolutions and create SOPs for team and end-users.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary contact for technical assistance via ticketing system and in person.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues.
Handle onboarding/offboarding, account provisioning in Active Directory, workstation setup.
Configure, image, deploy, and maintain laptops/desktops using RMM and MDM tools.
Assist with basic network troubleshooting (Wi-Fi, VPN, Ethernet) and printers/AV in office.
Maintain IT inventory, log activities, and document SOPs in knowledgebase.
Document resolutions in detail and keep IT infrastructure documentation up to date.
