Job summary

Boston College in Newton, MA is seeking a Lead Food Service Worker to supervise and participate in preparing, serving, and storing a variety of foods. The role includes cashier duties, setting up and cleaning, and directing other staff and student workers; lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

The position offers a starting pay range of $27.21–$30.23 per hour, a 35-hour work week, and BC benefits including tuition remission and comprehensive health coverage.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma preferred. NRA ServSafe certification and MRA Allergen certification preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a large volume food operation. Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must read and write English; able to work in fast-paced environment; good human relations; operate basic kitchen equipment; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and participates in routine tasks to prepare, serve and store vegetables, salads, sliced meats, baked goods and desserts.
• Directs other food service workers or student employees assigned to work station.
• Transports food and supplies to service areas and replenishes food as directed.
• Assists in training of food service workers and students; may perform cashier duties.
• May assist in bussing trays and setting up work areas; participates in catered events as directed.
