Job summary

Kean University seeks a Facilities Operations and Events Manager to oversee university facilities operations, events coordination, and vendor management. This role supports the Director of Facilities and coordinates day-to-day activities across the facilities team while ensuring smooth planning for events and transportation dates.

The Manager will handle on-call duties, travel as needed, and schedule evening/weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; two years of professional work experience in facilities/operations/event/project management or related field.
• Driver’s license valid in New Jersey required.
• Ability to perform moderate physical activity (driving, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds).

Responsibilities

• Manage elevator service calls.
• Schedule pest control services.
• Coordinate moves and furniture relocation requests.
• Conduct building cleanliness inspections.
• Assist with Residence Life and housing turnover inspections.
• Meet with vendors to discuss facilities work and service requests.
